Message Problem: After replacing OEM clutch with a RPS Street unit and using an aftermarket slave cylinder; the clutch pedal was engaging too low off the floor.

I was using Specialty Z's instructions on aftermarket clutch adjustments; however the under dash clutch pedal rod adjustment was already out to the max. So I decided to look to the slave cylinder as a possible source of adjustment.

Solution: After observing the slave cylinder piston travel, and noting where it began to depress the clutch fork, it was obvious I needed a longer pin. An adjustable slave cylinder pin was fabricated from a 3" mild steel bolt to provide more travel for the slave cylinder. The additional length compensates for lack of pedal rod adjustment under the dash.

1.) The original slave cylinder pin in on the left. 2.) The aftermarket slave cylinder pin is about a quarter inch longer. 3.) The fabricated pin is 3" with an adjustment +/- .5"

The additional length of an adjustable pin pushes the piston further back into the slave cylinder and provides for more piston travel. This extra travel of the slave piston pushes on the clutch fork sooner thereby causing the clutch pedal to engage higher off the floor. This allows faster and smooth shifts.
