Message	diff't than insurance points. A portion of DMV points go away with xx months of no ticket, but insurance carries the tickets as a surcharge for 3 years from when they first start the surcharge. In CA, even tickets that don't go against your state driving record are still reported to insurance and the surcharge applies. I'm ashamed to say I was a pro at this balance when I lived in NJ, because once you get 12 DMV points you'd lose your license.
