| I received a citation at a road block for not having my drivers license on me. The ticket I was given has a time to appear in court, but does not have a date. Does anybody know if this is a mistake and is a legitimate cause for dropping the ticket? I called the Dawsonville courthouse(county in which the citation was issued) and they assured me that this is normal and if i wanted to fight the ticket it would cost me $125 on top of whatever the ticket costs if I lose the case. Otherwise I had to come in and pay it in a "reasonable" amount of time(whatever that is supposed to mean). Please excuse my ignorance, but I thought everybody had the right to fight a citation. The ticket really isn't going to cost much(I believe it was $65), but I want to know that the Dawsonville courthouse is not taking advantage of me, by denying my right to fight the ticket or drop it completely because of the incomplete citation. Any intelligence in this area would be greatly appreciated!
