Message Awesome service, great prices. They did a compression and leak down test.

Get the motor, and get ready to do some maintenance before it goes in. Replace almost every seal & gasket, oil pan, pick up tube, timing belt, etc. etc.

I figure you will probably spend about $1000 on just maintenance parts and what not, before the motor goes in.

Get ready to flush out all the coolant passages with the motor out. Then, flush it several times with the motor in. I used this Prestone flush product (it clearly says on the bottle "For Neglected Cooling Systems"). I followed the instructions and lots of rust and crap came out.

As for being done in a weekend, be careful and take your time if it's your first time.

I'm sure I can do it in a weekend now, but I have done this before. Mind you in my case it was a straight motor swap, not a twin turbo conversion which is much more involved (piping, intercoolers, etc.).

I figure you will need a couple of weekends just to take apart the JDM motor, clean it up, and do all the maintenance on it. Then maybe a weekend or two to pull the old motor, put in the piping, harness, motor, etc.

Then get ready for one weekend to troubleshoot and diagnose issues that might come up.

Trust me, take your time.
