Message My best friend just bought a VR4, which got me into the whole 90's sports car thing. This thankfully moved me out of the sound system and neon light strobe faze.
He tried to convince me to get rid of my Infiniti J30 which I loved at the time (and still have), by showing me pics on autotrader.com of some cars.
This picture automatically got me hooked

My first reaction was "wtf is that car, that thing is beautiful".
Since that picture, the first one I actually noticed on the road I couldn't stop staring at it. The squared off rear end and the wedge-shaped front of the car, everything just looked perfect. I later spent hours upon hours of research on the car, looked at hundreds of pictures, read dozens of online magazine articles, even signed up on this site before getting my Z. My friends and family were tired of my constant rambling of eventually getting a Z. All I knew was the Z was destined to be mine one day.

One instance that set it in stone for me was meeting member 300zxdett at Atco Raceway. I drooled over his black Z, cheering him on at the track. After asking to sit inside it, the car fit like a glove. He then threw me the keys and said to take it around the block and have fun. My heart was probably racing 1000 bpm. I knew first gear would be useless, so I floored it from a roll in 2nd, holy jeebus was that a complete rush. The smile never left my face for days.

I searched on autotrader.com and cars.com for almost a year waiting for the right Z (preferably black 1990, twin turbo, 5spd, and leather seats), and within my broke-ass price range. Not knowing how to drive stick yet, I checked out two red TTZ's, one Aztec and the other CRP, and had the owners test drive it for me. Still a little out of my price range, I had to continue my search. Not expecting much each day I checked, low and behold a black TTZ was for sale for $6500 about 1.5hrs north of me. Ad says needs some work, but that was the least of my worries. August 17th, 2005, made the drive up there, put $1000 down, came back a couple days later and worked out a small loan for the rest. Still have the original autotrader ad printed out.
After alot of ghetto-rig fixes from the prev. owner, the car ran perfect.
Bought it with 147,000 miles, now has over 185,000 on original stock turbos and transmission, and is still the fastest stock-turbo'ed Z I've been in or raced.

Definitely an amazing car and Z community to be involved with.
