R platforms have front upper control arms. It is not impossible. Someone handy with a welder can make the oil pan smaller and create a Dry Sump system for the Z32. That will leave room for the Front Differential. Get an R32 GTR or GTS-4 front subframe, cut/modify/extend to fit it on the bottom of the Z32 in place of the crossmember and you have a good basis to put the Differential and Engine for a VG30DETT. Agree'd, it would be a lot of work, and can possibly make the Z32 more nose heavy than it already is. But the original designers of the Z32 didn't get any sleep on the amazing car as it was in the first place. There are rumors that there's an AWD Z32TT here in the Greater Toronto Area that is using the entire engine and drivetrain from a Sunny GTI-R. I have yet to personally see this car, but I've heard this from four different sources over the past year. I can't imagine a 4cylinder powering a Z in a FWD fashion, but I suppose it's been done or at least thought of.
