You need the S-AFCII either way for a proper setup, but if you set up the AFC to sum the two MAF's, it saves you from needing to spend money on the dual pop chip. (You can use the regular single pop chip and achieve the same results.) [If you have the dual pop chip, you'd set up the AFC to average the MAF signals. Either way, the ECU gets an exact reading of the air going into the system.]
