Message A lot of people here regularly rant on others who mod for "look prettys" versus functionality and yet fail to support this idea. This is because the ideal TT.net car is a street car who is aesthetically pleasing while comfortable to drive in and yet out performs most yuppy cars out there (ie entry level porsches, vettes, bmw etc). Because this fails two of the criterium, the majority of posters won't support it. The track realm is much different, some people actually take pride in how ugly their car is.

This doesn't apply to some of the people that posted but most members have not taken their Z to a track event and don't understand that fairly often "tracked out" Z06's get passed by, say a miata with a seasoned driver. Squeezing out a few hp here and there is noticiable in a straight line but is marginable on the track compared to a driver's learning curve. To help VoslickZ out, here's what he didn't explain:

The car is technically not a DD- it is the beginnings of a track car that is co used as a DD for a 16 yr old highschooler who doesn't give a shit about how pretty his car is.

Right now the budget is Zero, zip, zilch, nada. How do you mod a car to increase performance with no budget? Shave weight

It will be a progressive build for progressive learning at the track. Yes a TT motor would make a difference but there is a cost associated with that and he doesn't have 3-4k of disposable income. Also extra power helps coverup mistakes.

As allways, I appreciate the engineering and looks of the stock Z and removing that stuff does ruin some of that. Luckily we have two other Z's to look at if this one gets too ugly.
