| If you are doing any kind of Fuel work... Wear your GOGGLES (not just regular safety glasses)..
Working on a customer's car today, 2004 Chevy Malibu.
Was doing a routine tune-up (plugs, wires, oil, air, trans flush, clean connections/battery etc... AND the fuel filter. The fuel filter is located along the frame rail under the car. I relieved fuel pressure by disconnecting fuel pump relay and attempting to start car. Got underneath and went at it.. then realized I didn't have my safety glasses on. So I went and grabbed them. While working underneath, just as I was about to disconnect the fuel line, my safety glasses slipped up on my head (because I was tilting my head back to get a better view). Right at THAT very moment the line disconnected and fuel sprayed DIRECTLY into my eyes. It was the residual fuel pressure but it came out with much force. My eyes and face were burning so bad! I was so scared that I was going to loose my vision due to this crap. I went a flushed my eyes out for a few mins and put some eye drops in. Seems to be okay besides a little burning and discomfort. So.. lesson for today is to purchase a set of safety GOOGLES when doin ANY type of pressured fluid work. I think I got extremely lucky.....
NO, This picture is not photoshopped. It took many times to take this picture. Setting up the timer, shutter speed etc, then jumping on my bike and getting the tire to spin.
