There is a Supreme Court case stating that any patrol officer with a minimum of 2 years experience is considered certified in visual speed estimation. Therefore, we can (and do) write speeding tickets, with a specific speed, and they are upheld in court. On top of that, I guarantee I could find something to write on every single car on the road. The point is, ultimately, you can't win. I've seen stories on here about "I beat this ticket" or whatever. Half of them are bullshit, and the other half are lazy and unprofessional cops. Not in my department =)
