As many of you know, I mounted a small camera to the front of my Z to record track events and such. However, it did not come with sound and had a mono RCA cable to feed to my headunit's TV screen. So I decided the other day to get a small microphone to plug into the empty audio port so I could record both. I went and got a small Sony desktop microphone. It's 2" in diameter and has the mini male adapter on it like a pair of walkman headphones (I always forget what they are called). Anyway, after searching two Radioshacks and not finding a female mini plug to male or female RCA adapter, I jerry rigged it another way. I got a female to female mini adapter turning the male end to a female one. Then I found a 6" male mini adapter to RCA male! Perfect. However, when I try to get audio from this setup I get nothing at all. Any idea why that is? The mic works FINE as I plugged it directly into my home stereo and it works great. But through a female/female mini adapter to an RCA it doesn't. Should it? Or is there something fundamental I'm missing? Thanks! Hope to bring you guys some vidcaps soon.
