I am currently running M1 15w50(influenced by tt.net members) and changing it within a week. I believe for a stock internal vg30dett a synthetic 15w50 is too thick even if it does have higher zddp content(too much is never good either). Anyway my next choice of oil is between Amsoil and Redline..either a 10w30 or 5w30 especially with winter approaching. The shear resistance of the redline groupV oil, high temp stability, moly and zddp content really sells itself to me with our boosted engine. I've been browsing [ www.bobistheoilguy.com ] forums for a couple days now for UOA(used oil analysis) and get mixed reports for the Redline, but I am starting to believe this is because of the nature of the ester base oil and things that were already in the virgin oil. Experiences with amsoil and redline motor oils please....
