Message	:How do you figure? The heat energy expended by either brake will be the same when stopping the same vehicle at the same rate and from the same speed. Assuming 2" pad width, a 13" rotor has 18% more swept area than an 11" rotor. The same heat energy disapated into 18% more swept area results in a cooler rotor. Also, that is 18% more area in which to shed the heat via convection.
