Message	The physics behind the answer lie in studying Advection (convection heat transfer using Grashofs number) The important thing to notice in Grashofs formula (to apply it to this scenario) is the little difference that the extra length will make in changing the diameter of the rotor, especially since the effective change is very little in an open diameter (doughnut) design.
