Bear with me guys, this is a long story. We started out with some new upgrades, 2.5" Toms piping, new Stillen SMIC's and Z1 upgraded throttle bodies. I know there has been a lot of controversy over whether or not going larger on the IC piping would affect spool time, I'll let the dyno graph speak for the results. Here is the dyno results before and after the piping, intercooler, and throttle body upgrade on a stock turbo car:
As you can see, the gain was ~30rwhp and ~30rwtq out of piping, intercoolers, and throttle bodies. Definitely a worth while upgrade. Then it was time to go out to the track along with the MR2 club. We went out to Willow Springs raceway running the Streets of Willow. CCW direction. There were no times, so I could not compare it to last time, but by the end of the day I was set running 18 pounds of boost (~400rwhp at the dyno) on 110 octane. Running on Falken Atenis RT615 street tires. The car was handling awesome & I found myself out with the "advanced" group by the end of the day chasing down a 911 turbo. Proud day for the Z community as I slowly reeled this guy in a few car lengths every lap we completed, then disaster..... I had finally caught him & was going up the back straight. Hit about 120mph & got to the braking zone, no brakes.... held the car on the track as long as I could, but eventually slid of the back of the bowl, off the track & put it into the wall. limped it off the track bent out the front fender a bit & took a couple pics. Here they are:

It may look bad, but cleaned up pretty well, just need to find a pearl white drivers fender & a mirror glass for the drivers mirror. Personally I could not be happier, after talking to the owner of the porsche, it was a 911 turbo, chipped, exhaust, race seats, suspension work, ~511hp on race compound tires. When we were talking he said he was really shocked to see my little nissan vert getting closer & closer in his mirrors & was really not happy that he was about to be passed :) ... & when we talked later & his friend pointed out that I was on street tires, he just stared at the Z in shock for few seconds... speechless. It was a day of days & a testament to the hard work to the guys over at Specialty Z -- Seb -- Greg -- this little victory dance is just for you. Thanks also to the community for all your help over the years, you have made one mans dream come true. Now it's time to find out what the F1 cars are using for fluid & change out to that. The Baer kit was amazing in combination with the Brakeman race pads, hauling the car time and time again from 130+ to 30 for the hard left at the end of the front straight. Thanks to the guys at the MR2 club for setting up a great event & The SD Z club for inviting us to attend. Cant wait to get out there again!!!!
