From what I understood, Motorex did some shady deals (involving stealing cars they sold and then reselling them). Because of that law enforcement got involved. As a result, Skyline importation came under scrutiny. Last time I check, you could not import an R34 or R33 into the US with the intent to register and drive it. However, you could for the R32, this was from the DOT.
