I'm not asking for spring rates from you - all I Am asking for is what method you used to overcome the fact it requires an impact on the VTC mechanism in order for it to break free and rotate. You can't just apply torque to it and take a measurement - the device's structure requires a bit of shock to allow any motion at all. I've found here on the bench that it takes around 25ft/lbs PLUS a good smack on the VTC in order to make it rotate at all. I can put up to 66lbs of force on it and it wont turn at all unless I smack it.
