Hi Ash, 1.) I'm sorry you don't like my tone, but I'm a little pissy right now as I am over 2K in the hole after this incident. 2.) I'm not and extortionist. Extortionists are criminals by definition and that would rule me out completely, but thanks anyway. [ http://www.hyperdictionary.com/search.aspx?define=extortionist ] 3.) Greg Dupree tells me that running too hot of a plug and high boost could definitely result in detonation, so why would I simply let go of that notion as a possibilty? Greg and Seb have produced some of the highest horsepower and fastest Zs in the community and have a fantastic reputation. The NGK website also verifies the danger of running too hot of a plug. It is found that every number plug you go up, you can decrease combustion chamber temps by up to 200 degrees. That would have brought me down 400 degrees with a number 8 plug and 600 degrees with a number 9 plug at the track, which is what I ran at PINKS. I know you say all these other cars with so much power run the #6 plugs, but I guess they have all been much more fortunate than I, maybe having little bit more time put into their tune, and and now I'm shit out of luck and you don't like the tone of my voice. Geeez, sorry about that. :-( Here is the link on TT.NET, when I spoke to Greg about plugs: [ http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2191038/What-kind-of-plugs-are-you-running-at-over-25psi-.html ] Kyle also gave me the same information, and no, Russel no longer runs those plugs in his car. And if I recall properly, Dee recently blew a motor and he has about 100,000 gauges in his car, which didn't prevent him from blowing the motor. PS - You can call Kyle if you want at any time and ask him what he thinks after looking at the heads, but I don't think you'll like his feedback either. 4.) What questions haven't I answered? I confirmed that there was no boost leak, before and after the damage. Compression test revealed no pressure in cylinders 5 & 6 after the incident. It obviously wasn't a fuel pressure issue as it was cylinders 5 & 6 with the damage, and these are the entrance and exit points for fuel. You offered to send me the new and improved doolz set up, but I don't hear about people blowing their motors over intake design. I've already run the car since the repair, watching the A/F closely and it looked OK, so it's probably not the tune, although I was only running 24 lbs of boost at the track with the colder #9 plugs. When I left you from tuning, my race program was set up for 26-27lbs and I was running the hotter #6 plugs, so I guess I could run quite a bit leaner if I ran a couple more pounds of boost and the hotter plugs, so maybe the tune was a little lean in real life conditions. ??? You also offered to repair my heads, but don't take this the wrong way, I needed to get them back in a timely manner for the event. ;-) I'm not an asshole or an extortionist, so lets figure something out here. I have many better things to do with my time than argue with you about this and I'm sure the same is true for you. Perhaps we could try the diffrent doolz set up and the next time you are up here, you could retune my car with the plugs of my choice. Let me know what your thoughts are. PS - Sorry again for the major attitude, but I am from Philadelphia. Regards, Tony 215-964-4018
