Z passed by Mustang because Z was being driven by M3-biased instructor who had no clue how to drive a Z, in fact drove it off the course and even called it a "pig". Later on that Z (driven by its owner) was going faster through the turns than the instructor in his M3. The 944 turbos were not very fast - the quickest, smoothest cars were a souped-up '80s Camaro and a '96 Corvette-LT4. Z ate alot of bugs and a few cars and had fun.
