I'm not saying someone wouldn't buy it for near that price. I'm saying that considering it's a swap (correct?), high mileage, and a new motor... those points alone will turn away some people looking for cars like the one in the OP that you're comparing yours to. Can you restore it to a very clean, very fast, and buyer-friendly car? No doubt. But you'll have a much narrower crowd of buyers to appeal to than a nearly-stock, original, low mileage and also clean TT. I'm in the same camp - swapped TT, high mileage, decent power and modifications... but I don't expect nearly $16k even if I send the car into the body shop for utter perfection. Good luck either way - I'm sure it's going to turn out nice.
