Message I was just curious if it could be done and if it would work. The idea is if I
were to source a large block of rubber and have it cut to tightly fit inside
the face of the pulley and would be anchored buy a metal plate held in
place with the crank bolt. Would just attaching a piece of rubber to the
pulley be enough to dampen engine harmonics and vibrations that cause
damage?
I've looked throughout the internet looking at dampener pulleys and
every one I have found is a 3 piece design with a hub, rubber damper ring,
the the rim that has the belt grooves. I know that is the best design for a
dampener, but would my idea work on an already existing solid UD pulley?
