While the 7 may handle better and be a tiny bit quicker in acceleration stock, they are *very* unreliable. You're looking at paying big bucks every 60k miles for an engine and turbos replacement, whereas Z engines can last well past 150k miles, and the turbos around 80-120k miles. Plus many mechanics aren't familiar with rotary engines so you're need to take it to a specialized shop or dealership for problems which = $$$.
