Ok, I posted earlier today about turbo choices, and whats the best option out there for the money... Here is the original post and the replies I had received: [ http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/next/1218569682/index.html ] I may be mistaken, so I thought about it.. and I decided to re-post to clarify what my current, and future goals are with the car as a whole. As my profile outlines, I have a 95 TTZ, 5speed, with a bad motor, and blown stock turbo's.. I'm replacing my current motor, with another 95 TTZ motor, that was recently rebuilt then sold to me for a great price.. I want to know IF the following is POSSIBLE with my car. My logic is as follows, I am by NO means an expert, hence I am here asking questions to gain knowledge to help make a better choice. When I do the math, if I went with for example, JWT Sport 700 BB's, Z1's , or a similar turbo by another brand.. I would ideally have to spend "X" amount of dollars in supporting mods anyways, no matter what turbo upgrade I chose, given the car is all stock for the most part. (ie: Larger intercoolers, 2.5-3" exhaust, MS Manifolds, DP's, injectors, Test pipes, Injectors, etc... You all know what I mean..) So my new version of the question is, will the SZ-EXP90 Turbo Kit work on a stock motor with the basic supporting mods to start; and I add on more, as time and money permits, ie the following to start: MS Manifolds, Boost controller, the Custom 3" Expansion DP's made for them, Test pipes, larger intercoolers, 740cc, or 850 injectors, and a tune or chip to support the mods? I want to build the motor, it's just not a current desire for the type of build that I want, I would like to tackle my "monster build" in a year or 2; full throttle.. But I don't wanna buy a lesser turbo now, and then have to sell them and buy another set of turbo's, pipes and fittings that best fit them ALL over again to support the Larger turbo's. I value everyone's opinion here... Is it possible? -How would the motor run with just the basic start up supporting mods? I will not be pushing my baby pass her stock internal limits of 550-600 hp. I just want turbo's that are one size fits all for any crazy builds I do in the future, and thats that.. Can't I controll how much boost I run on the engine with a electronic boost controller and a good tune? If so, why not get these, and never have to buy another set of turbo's, and enjoy the motors limts now for 1-2 years, while I plan, and budget for long blocks, boring, porting, Crazy cams, and all that other good stuff done at "build" time.. Can this be done, or will I not be able to controll how much boost they produce with stock internals? I can't stres enough, that my TTZ is my baby, and thus will not be stressed, I just wanna pull the trigger... All inputs are welcomed, and appreciated..(the good's, the bad's, and especially the TRUTH's) >;-) ~M.
