500-700 is gonna get you squat down there, not in close to where you are wanting to work for sure. Up here in Clearwater you have to hustle to find a decent 1/1 for 5ish, 2/2s are a struggle to find under 650. It can be done, BUT you are looking at a much higher area. Another problem is your planned 1-2 month tenure. No decent place is going to offer any less that a 7 mo lease, and that will even have a premium price; std is 12 mo. And they are VERY tough about fees for lease breaking. Your best bet will be try and find a garage apt or duplex 15-20 miles away from the work area, then you will still have to have help finding it. I have family in Wellington (E of W Palm) so I have had some exposure to the area and am shocked at the cost difference. Even gas is .20/gal higher there than the rest of the state. More in Miami. Do you speak fluent Spanish? Seriously, it would help both with the job AND housing hunt. There are some good folks there, but Spanish is their tongue of choice.
