| is perfectly fine to put a tire that is 5, 6 or 8 years old on your car or your family's car and drive it around feel free to do so. Would you knowingly put aged tires on your wife's car or your daughter's car as you send her off to college...knowing all along that she may not check the air pressure as often as she should? Maybe a tire that is not 6 years old would stand up to the problems of being run on low pressure longer than one that has been sitting. I don't think it's ok for a tire place to sell me a tire that has been sitting on a shelf for that long with binding agents decomposing and call it a "new" tire. NytWolf asks for numbers of deaths related too old tires. It doesn't matter how many people have died if it happens to you or a family member.
