Message Like Greg said, Flowmasters are chamber style mufflers:

Flowmaster 40 Series Delta Flow

You can see here that all their mufflers are chambered:

Hooker Max Flow mufflers, on the other hand, have a straight through design:

:My friend had a 2.5" exhaust on his civic with a 1.6l engine (roughly half the size of our VG) and a flowmaster muffler. It made the fart sound associated with most hondas sound mild. Obviously it wasn't any better on a Z32. Someone was asking about the hooker mufflers the other day. I just found this clip and wanted to let anyone trying to save money by doing their own custom exhaust know that this is not a good way to go. The best mufflers for imports I have ever heard are Maxspeed ovals. I can't afford a $1000 HKS or comparable exhaust so probably will go with Maxspeed mufflers. It will be a few months off but I will try to get a video sound clip of it when it's installed.
