It is a well known fact that independent rear suspension is not good for drag racing. The anti-squat setup that the Z has only makes matters worse, since by design, it minimizes weight transfer. When drag racing, you WANT weight transfer to the rear wheels. I've seen Z's drag racing, and they're lucky to break into the 12's, even at a high trap speed of around 110 mph. A cheap 1980's or early 90's Mustang can get deep into the 12's without such a high trap speed.
