Message balabushkas are only good if they are made like 30 years ago. If george balabushka made the cue himself then the cue is worth 10K plus. sadly he died about 25 years ago 1976 i believe. So he turned over the company to his family who made cues in a lot higher production but no where as good. So any new balabushka pretty much sucks and plays too much like a coker for me, plus it makes a very slight clicking sound when you hit and thats the sign of a weak joint. I killed a guy last night in a tournament who had a balabushka, I was like "is that a balabushka?" he was like, "yah, but its not an original". George is another cuemaker but is not George Balabushka. This Cuemaker named Schick (probably one of the best cuemakers in the world today IMHO) came down to Hawaiin Brians and I showed him my cue and he looked at it for one second and said, yup, thats my cue. I remember making that one... this guys works full time and makes 20 cues a year, each one sells for 6K+. Anyways, balabushkas are good because of their name and worth, but no one would ever play w/ a Original balabushka, new balabushkas are alright cues but I wouldnt play w/ one. The rolexs of pool cues are Schon, Balabushka, George, Schick, and a few others. And when they sell for $5000+, its worth every penny. All these cues have like a 4 year plus waiting list.. sorry, im going on and on, I think I'll stop.
