| Haven't posted in a while, but have been around. Pretty much just been sitting all back of the bus. Anywho, here is my latest project slicktop. The plan is to cut 500lbs out of the vehicle and get to 600hp. Moderate goals to say the least, but I wanted them achievable. I wanted to thank Greg and all the guys working on Zlab to give me a lot of good ideas to run with, they were really the inspiration for this new project. Picked up the 92 slicktop in Galveston, TX from a young lady who previously lived in Houston. Good condition overall. Paid around $3K or so. Picking up the slicktop in Galveston. First looks.

Me and MarioZ32TT had a few minutes to hit the beach while in Galveston.
Loaded up and ready for the ride home.
Home and after a good cleaning. Prepping for tear down at this point.
Got to stripping out the interior and all the sound deadening right away. A massive undertaking, but made easier with the help of dry ice and music to pass the time.

Now on to the prep for the structure foam injection. I picked up this idea from Mike Kojima and lot of the other racers that I had a chance to chat with at ZCON02 Long Beach. The structure foam adds rigidity to open areas, or boxed in sheet metal. By filling these voids it creates section of strengthened area, increase rigidity as a whole. In conjunction with a seam welded interior and underbody, this should be a good starting platform.
The prep-

Now for the prep for the engine bay. I elimnated as much as I could on the engine bay; cut off non needed bracket, filled unused bolt holes, relocated brackets, etc. Bye bye to the battery tray. Notice foam pertruding on bolt holes, the front rails were shot in foam injection as well.
Had the notion to kill out the hood latch/cables/assembly for weight. Used a set of Aerocatch hood pins. Came out nice.
 Now prep for paint.

Primer shot on some areas to get an idea of how the paint was gonna lay.

Now onto the paint. Went with Hot Hues low gloss black paint. Shot it with a hardner that way I wouldn't need to shoot a clear a final finish. This will make the stock paint a bit durable.

And that is pretty much it right now. Thanks again to all those offering advice and to those vendors with help on parts. Thanks again.
