Message limits. I rarely go on a general concensus of what others say and do when it comes to mechanical and electrical systems - the grape vine effect is pervasive and we've even seen that here. The opportunuities I have to actually test this on various cars and the simple nature of performing the test just lends itself to satisfying the curiosity.

To use the same logic as you used, I could say that a wider set of tires would improve the performance of the car but the manufacturer failed to implement this "upgrade" to the original design prior to manufacture.

I dont know the reasons why Mitsu x-naed' on this device but there are several possible answers which aren't all directly tied to performance. Is there documentation from Mitsu stating why they did away with it?
