It is a ton of fun to participate in and is pretty popular in Kauai...especially the Jiu-Jitsu side of it. When I'm actually there I look forward to being in the local events. Been doing them since I was way young (yes children have divisions and fight, but they have to wear face masks ect...lame haha). I don't participate in the events to be a bad ass or anything, but just to have a good time and to better my martial arts skills. The training up to an event is a blast with other friends, then right before you fight, the adrenaline in your body is so high, there is no other feeling like it, even though in the end you know it's all just a sport. At worst you walk out with a couple bruises, and at best you get a nice shiney trophy for your division. The hoodie I'm wearing is just from an event I participated in last summer. I think you can probably buy it too though since you seem interested. =)
