Stage 0: You bought an N/A Z32 and want to put a huge system in it, build it up, and run low 9's in the quarter mile. Stage 1: You buy wheels (calling them rims) that are heavy and have the wrong offset. Stage 2: After driving your Z for 3 days you realize, like most 10-18 year old cars, there exist about $2000 in things needing fixing. Stage 3: Your wheels arrive and you realize the offset is completely wrong. In order to fit them you pull the fender, run 5 degrees of camber, and order 215 tires for your 9" wide wheel. Stage 4: You post on 3zc and everyone gives you accolades for 'fitting' those wheels. You post on tt.net and everyone encourages you to sell your car and get another hobby. Stage 5: Winter comes and you wrap the car around some object....insert obligatory comments on bondo and resale value of all other Z's. Stage 6: You buy a TwinTurbo and between insurance and maintenance costs you adopt the more justified approach of modifying for a purpose and enjoying the car for what it is.

"The 300ZX Turbo is a dance; it's a song; it's rolling, roaring automotive art. There is no color that doesn't suit it. There is no mood-lifting chemical substance it can't replace." - Automobile Magazine |
