| They actually showed some of the motorcycle guys and one of the pro stock guys from last year that could not make the turn off in time and wound up in the sand. One of the bikes and the pro stock cars were totally destroyed when the net could not stop them. I would say the slow down area is shorter then most. Then the sand area is way small. I would be willing to say it is less then 35 yards with a small net and then the concrete barrier. I would be willing to bet he was going well over 275 MPH so there is no way the sand and little net was going to slow him down before he hit the wall. RIP Scott Kalitta
