| or, I Drove The Dragon With No Power Steering We finally finished the major project that's been keeping me busy here at work, so I'm taking some time to write this thing up. I'll post it in sections so it isn't one gigantic long rambling post. ;-) Day 1: Thursday I left NoVA while Bernie left MidEastVA with Bilski Sr. and we met up in Staunton, VA several hours later. My view for much of the drive:
The sky was cloudy and it rained off and on, and then we got re-routed once we got into TN, but that wasn't so bad as the scenery was gorgeous going towards Asheville, NC instead of the usual way through Knoxville. Arrived at Fontana Village after dark, found our cabin, discovered we were neighbors with some fellow tt.net-ers, and unloaded the Zs. Bilski Sr. disparaged our meager cabin in the woods while Bernie and I marveled over the upgrades made since last year. We had prepared for last year's setup again, bringing towels, sheets, blankets, plates, plasticware, and sandwich makings that required no real kitchen. However, everywhere we turned we discovered that, except for food, it had all already been taken care of. Could've brought only half the packing, had we known!
