: i was just atempting to clean my engine, and noticed my battery kinda blew up! i know the 50/50 baking soda/water thing, but do i just dump some on there and hose it off? i dont really like all that red and white shit all over everything. and can surface rust on my rotors come off, or do i have to get new ones(havent moved the car more than a few hundred feet since march. rotors are covered in rust. make noise when moving) my car went to shit when i lost my license. what to do???? ok, bitch mode: off Yep, that's pretty much how to do it.... baking soda and water and pour over areas affected... however, if it's been sitting there for a while already and you only just noticed it... the damage may have been done already, I'd take an old toothbrush and start scrubbing to be extra careful. and hose it off when you're done... also do this before you put in the new battery... LOL
As for rusted brake rotors, the first few stops you make should pretty much take care of the rusted areas in respect to the pad swept area. As for the hub area... a stiff wire brush would be an option.
