Message starters. Aluminum suspension arms do corrode in salty environments. I have seen fluffy AL parts in many junkyards here in the rust belt. In general the forged surface is less susceptible and the parts are much thicker sections so they can afford to have a good heavy oxide layer.
My E-Type Jag had sheet aluminum pans under the frame. They were badly rotted away where they had fastened to the car. The were insulated by plastic coated clamps but the brackets trapped water in the course of the years they rotted away.
Fortunately they were easy to reproduce as they were just flat sheet.
