I understand that historically & culturally there just isn't the same view of life that we are accustomed to. That does not mean that an overly broad generalization is correct. Thats like saying that Americans are all fat and lazy. As a whole, generally speaking, we are the one of the most out of shape nations in the world (mexico actually beat the US in N. America, though), but does that mean that we are all overweight and unwilling to do any sort of physical labor? You see where this is going...
I also understand that individual experiences make certain people bitter and biased - and thats understandable. The only problem with that is that these biases & generalizations are what has made the world go round as it has for thousands of years (that & fear). I'd surmize that any historian could reasonably say that it has not gone well in the "peace & reason" department. Heres to a few more great milleniums...
