Message Originally when HIDs were first setting their roots, some manufacturers ranged from 4000k-8000k. I.e. some older Acura TLs had 8000k HIDs.

It all depends on how the lens is designed around the bulb. Z projectors aren't designed for HIDs, and thus the highest light output is whatever bulb is brightest at the distance from the bulb tip to the lens (4300k in our case). If a projector is designed specifically with an HID bulb, they can get brighter light out of an 8000k bulb than we can get out of a 4300k HID.

Cheers,
