Message Sorry to hear. :-( Especially from a fellow Staten Islander.

Was this at E-town last night? I was even thinking about going today to take the MINI down the dragstrip just to see what #'s it would post. But it's supposed to rain bad later.

Anway, obviously you know I've been there. I still don't know how my rear broke loose after the 1/4 mile mark down the shutdown area and not even on the breaks yet. Hicas? Oil on the track? ET street tires floating? Tire issue? Something break? Again, still dunno.

But I was in kinda the same frame of mind as you initialy. I thought it was all over for my racing days. When I crashed, I really wasn't crushed tho. I knew the risks and I've always known that if I crashed I'd be down a ton of cash in the car. But who cares. The car can be replaced. I walked away without a scratch due to all of the safety stuff in the car.

And I know what you mean about the Z love affair being over. But take some time to think about it. I always knew I would replace the car with another Z. And that dream came true for me. I replaced it with a vert and did a TT monster build up. I'll always be a Z nut!

And yes, I see you're in your 30's with kids. I say pick up another Z and keep it for cruising the streets and going to Z meets. That's really the role of my Z now. No racing this car.

And as a side note, a week after my crash, I was in Hawaii proposing to my now wife. :-) This was well planned before my crash. I'm just grateful that the Z is solid as it is after smacking 2 walls at 113 mph.

Again, glad you weren't hurt. Hope to hear about you back in a Z in the future.
