Message I need to get it up on some stands and count the input shaft rotations relative to the tire rotations to get the overall ratio (including rearend) of each gear to better determine what sort of RPM range I need to make it fun. Hopefully it's got a nice roadcourse gearset (up to 180 or so) which would give me a top speed in the neighborhood of 125 with a VG turning 7500 which is not an issue for that engine.

That Busa V8 would be my first choice if I can find a used example, even blown so I can build it for boost and get the powerband that was originally given by the 2.65L Cosworth.

As for the weight I'm really not concerned. I've seen a few of these cars repowered with (racing) Buick Turbo V6's which are almost as heavy as a VG. Besides this way I can still stay in the Z community and who here doesn't want to see a VG powered open wheel car? Either way the car will be a tad under 1500 lbs when completed so it won't be sluggish by any means.
