| I am not saying that these are a "must have" for everyone with a Z. However, they are an economical alternative to new replacement sprockets. I will add, the new replacement sprockets have the exact same problem potential as the original sprockets that came stock on the engines; these problems are: 1) a ticking noise at idle when used with aftermarket valve springs with higher than stock installed pressure. 2) oil leakage from the rear cover. Put your now "noise-free" sprockets on an engine with aftermarket cams/valve springs and they will make noise. Yours may never leak oil, but if they ever do, they are not repairable... as a DYI that is.
