To speak to your request for personal experience, years ago I bought a shifter from him. I'm a little fuzzy on the exact number of days, but I do remember waiting a reasonable number before emailing him with a request for a tracking number. He apologized for the delay, saying his wife/girlfriend had not shipped it out in a timely manner. (I hate when that happens). Really classy to throw her under the bus. He finally got it sent out. I did finally receive the product and used it for a few years until it broke. To his credit, he offered to replace it when I informed him of the failure. I declined.

To ethics, I do remember him announcing Z1-developed new window mouldings, just as KurumaZ was bringing them to market. He and Z1 created a nice little charade to cover that one up. I also remember CaliguyPurdue discussing motor mounts with Ash at ZCon. Days later, Ash miraculously announced plans for his own motor mounts which looked incredibly similar to what Jim was designing.

There's also a lot that came out in the ugly divorce with Z1. I have no way of knowing what was true and what wasn't, but there's enough overall history to not trust him. Hell, I find it better to not trust either side on that one.

I'm sure you have perfectly reasonable excuses for everything and everything I could remember. You wouldn't be doing your job as Ash's mouthpiece if you didn't. But it doesn't matter. It is my opinion based on my years of being a part of the community.
