Message Trust us when we say that when you sit behind the wheel of any RWD sports car, you will drive it hard on occasion.

If I ever have kids, I would never give them a RWD sports car as their first vehicle. My kid is getting an AWD Passat Wagon until he/she learns how to drive. I don't really care if he/she does burnouts and powerslides through the neighborhood, just as long as it doesn't piss the neighbors off.. but my kid won't be getting a RWD sportscar until 1+ years of driving behind the wheel experience PLUS my kid will probably be taking a few performance driving school classes.

Most of us have been there and done that - what you're doing right now. We all start out thinking "yeah, I better be careful with this car." After a few months of driving slow and careful you start thinking, "hey, I'm a good driver so I can go a little faster.. " Don't get me wrong, I drove like a maniac when I was younger and I still do now. I'm just lucky all of my cars have stayed in one piece. It took me probably 3 years of driving before I would consider myself a decent driver. It probably took another 15-20 laps around autocross courses to make myself even better.

I'm not saying you're a bad person or anything, but when you put an inexperience driver behind a sportscar, you're asking for trouble. The rear end will kick out and the person won't know how to correct it.. wham.... the car hits a tree or telephone pole.. end of story.
