I got my hands on some of the Meguires Mirror Glaze Swirl Mark remover yesterday (I haven't had a chance to order the good stuff from Paul yet, I'll do that soon) and spent a long time in the garage yesterday working it into the paint (With a foam applicator) and then rubbing it off (going through God knows how many terry cloths). After a long whiles work, it doesn't seem like much actually happened. I can still see the swirls in Flourescnt and sun-lights, and I don't know what to do. I'm thinking it might have actually eaten through all the contaminants on the paint with my first application (Meguires considers the product a cleaner/swirl remover and didn't actaully get the chance to cure the paint of the swirls? Any ideas? Does this assumption sound reasonable? Should I try it a few more times? What is the proper technique? Should swirl mark removers actually work? After thinking about the chemistry, is it really possible remove swirls without a wet etch? How do you apply it uniformly given all the variables like varied pressure and directionality of application, amount of solution used, temperature, buffing/rubbing technique, etc? Paul maybe you can answer this. I have read your swirl document but I'm still not positive if I'm doing this correctly.
