When I was shopping around for in 2001 for a clean Z, I paid more for my '92 than most were asking for their '96. The '96 wasn't even an option given that there was no aftermarket tuning ECU option. So yes, the value for the '96, despite the fact that there were very few made, just didn't hold. Most consider the '95 the most desirable model as the fuel system used pintless fuel injectors. Some consider the '93 the best year if they, me included, can't stand the look of the "wing".
