With about 2/3rds on the SC400 and 1/3 on the Z. that's about 1000 gallons a year. Assuming a price of $6 / gallon and it will hit at least that, a car, like a prius, getting 50 on the freeway will take $3000 / year less. In addition, there's the social responsibility. If there was an all electric car available that I could afford, I'd be driving that and charging it with solar. Sure it might be a lot more expensive now to pay for the infrastructure but it would essentially leave me out of the oil loop. If I could afford it, I'd get a Tesla Roadster, but they start at over 100K and there's quite a long waiting list as they only just started rolling off the line a few weeks ago. Still, 250 miles on a 3.5 hour charge and 0 to 60 in just under 4 seconds and talk about drool!
