This was like 6 or 7 years ago when I was still in HS and at the time I had a Mitsubishi eclipse GSX. My friends still had honda's then. Anyway's this guy named Jay who owned JMS Products and was one of the inventors of the electric turbo and wanted cars to test them on. Buddy of mine said he would. His car was a 96 Integra GSR with a t3t4 50trim turbo, stock motor with a thicker head gasket to lower compression and running 12psi. Car dynoed 287whp on the dyno before the electric turbo. They then took off his airfilter from the intake pipe that went to the turbo. They hooked up some dryer hose and this electric turbo. They re dynoed the car but this time under WOT they turned on the electric turbo and gained 14whp to put him over the 300 mark to 301. I remember thinking to my self this is gay. Did it make more power, Some how yes. Dont ask me how, I don't know because it was a peice of shit looking device that some how worked some what and didnt make his car blow up. I remember he saying he could make a kit for my friend and wanted alot more then 350 dollars, like 2500 if I remember right, and we all just laughed Then he tried it on a C5 vette not a z06, just a regular C5 with full exhaust and the car wouldn't even start with it hooked up and so they un did the dryer hose, from his TB, started it up, plug it back up to the TB and it would just stall every time. After that we were all like fuck it, lets leave. Sorry for the story.
