Message One of the turbo's went out on my Z a while back and it had an oil leak, so I broke down and took it to a dealer. Turns out a previous owner was not kind at all to this car and there is a crap load of stuff to be fixed. So far I opted for:

Z1 GT550's
Z1 split DP's
Z1 ECU
Dual pop
profec IIb

yay for christmas time. The garage found numerous other problems with the car, missing bolts, broken mounts, missing hoses, wiring harness is in crap shape, and leaky gaskets all around, including valve cover, bank 2 head, and rear main. So obviously I ok'ed them to fix all of that as well but the one thing I'm conflicted on is they mentioned the rear main was previously installed poorly and a spring had been scoring down the crank, put a groove in it. To me that seems like something that should be replaced, but it requires them obviously to completely tear down the rest of the motor, and at that point might as well refresh the rings, bearings and the whole shi-bang. Anyway's Im going on Dealer preimiums here, so I've already cracked $3,000 and $4000 in parts I'm getting to be pretty well passed tapped out and workin on the CC's atm so I'm sure you all have been in this position before too.

The mechanic says that the scoring on the crank will not hurt much except shorten the life of the rear main which can be replaced with a tranny drop, so he didn't really recommend replacing it, but hes already talking the "We cant insure how well your internals are going to hold up, what condition they are in, if you start boosting too high" mantra which also adds to me thinking I should just have it done.... but the money thing...

Advice please?
