Message The Oklahoma Z Club had its first ever "King of the 1/4" event at a local drag strip. It was a blast. We had six cars from the club show up and run. We got 13 runs in!! Jodi brought her newly acquired aztec red TT a little later in the afternoon, so I didn't get any shots of her because my camera was basically dead by then.

I learned one thing today; trimming down your 60ft time is a damn hard thing to do. This being my first time ever on a dragstrip I didn't have the first clue on what to do. Oddly enough my first run of the day was my fastest (13.57@107.68mph) until my second to last run just eeked by it (13.50@109.64). The 60fts were awful 2.43 and 2.33 respectively. The car managed a 110.96mph trap in one forgettable run, so I guess that seems pretty good for stock injectors @ 0.95bar, no?

I foolishly started the day with the goal of a sub 2sec 60ft, watched my first 60ft of 2.43 balloon up to 2.7, 2.9, as bad as 3.1 (lol!), then I re-evaluated my goals and set the new bar to sub-2.4sec

Anyway, a lot of fun, a lot was learned and a lot was identified as needing-to-be-learned, and I'm looking forward to making it out a couple more times this summer. Here's the pics....
