Message 1 - Short circuit or low impedance load. Make sure your wiring configuration presents a high enough impedance at each channel. Like BigTDogg said, measure impedance of speakers at the amp output... disconnect them first.

2 - Overheating. The amp should be sitting in free air, not underneath a pile of stuff.

3 - Over power. Maybe you're just demanding more than the amp can deliver. Turn the gain down or get a bigger amp. You can measure the RMS AC voltage across the amp channel, P = V^2 / R.

4 - DC voltage at amp output. This is unlikely and I'm not going to bother explaining it. I doubt that car audio amps even have DC protection.
